Project Overview

This JOC project consisted relocation of 18” DIP sewer, 20” reclaim water, and 48” storm drain, out of Rte 66 and from under the Rio De Flag channel, in preparation for an ADOT bridge reconstruction project, and the RDF Project.  This Project presented many challenges including an aggressive schedule driven by ADOT; flow in the Rio de Flag; keeping all utilities active during construction; a 42” jack & bore under Rte 66; winter conditions; Unisource & APS coordination; ADOT road closure restriction and a 25’ deep vertical realignment.  EMC addressed each challenge with meticulous planning, and a dedicated team willing to take on the challenges! The most challenging issue was the logistics of working in the middle of Rte 66, in the most traffic congested part of Flagstaff. EMC mitigated the impacts working many night shifts, and having multiple crews & equipment staged on each side of Rte 66, minimizing the amount of time spent crossing the busy road.
